Descart (degeneration of philosopher René Descartes and free translated as “maps”) is a platform that provides young artists with the possibility to exhibit their work in public space, anywhere in the world.
Making maps and locating ourselves is something we have been doing for a long time now. In the 2700 BC we used simpel drawings and cuneiform script to capture our environment.
Nowadays, we rarely use physical maps anymore. Instead we use Google Maps; A commercialised map on the internet where cartographers are no longer in charge but we are.
The arrival of the Google Maps era gives us the opportunity to take a new look at the concept of “reality”.
